Millet is a delicious whole grain that provides a number of nutritional benefits. One serving of millet provides over a quarter of your recommended daily intake of magnesium and it is also a great source of manganese and phosphorus.
Chinese medicine considers millet to be a tonic for the spleen and kidneys, and combined with antioxidant-rich goji and mullberries this meal truly nourishes the body.
Ingredients
- 2 cups millet
- 4 cups water
- 2 tbs dried goji
- 2 tbs dried mullberry
- Ghee to taste
- Stevia (optional)
Instructions
For a richer flavor, toast millet in a hot, dry pan for 3 minutes. Make sure to stir frequently, as the millet can burn easily.
Combine millet, water, and berries in crock pot and cook on low for about 8 hours
The berries will impart a slightly sweet flavor into the dish, but you can also add stevia.
Serve warm with ghee for added flavor.
