Rou Gui Da Zao

This week’s health tea nourishes the kidneys, spleen, and heart. It is a sweet tea that will warm you up from the inside out on these chilly winter days.

To make this tea you need cinnamon (rou gui) and date (da zao). Both are also wonderful to use in cooking of soups, stews, and grains.

Ingredients

1 tsp of ground cinnamon or a stick
2-3 dates

Instructions

Gently boil ingredients for 2-3 minutes, pour off the tea and enjoy. Repeat using same herbs

In Chinese medicine, cinnamon is known to improve vitality and increase energy while dates help support normal blood pressure. Both herbs improve circulation within the body.
